From the Vault: Vaults

I'm not sure if this is true or whack because it's April 1 today but another edition of From the Vaults series was announced at the Magic site. From the Vault: Vaults features 15 premium cards of some the most popular vault cards in Magic history. Anyway, I'm completely positive that this is some kind of a joke.

The new rarity in Magic: Mythic

In connection with the previous post, there's also a new card rarity available in Magic: The Gathering.. the Mythic rares. Yes, it's much rarer than rares in like appearing only once in about eight booster packs, but one thing I'm sure of is not every mythic rare is uber powered, it's just that those cards feel well.. mythic. Also because of this harder to get cards now included in sets starting with Shards of Alara block, I think this new rarity is the reason for driving new cards to be high in prices, like above the $20 range. Even the Ravnica block dual lands did'nt top that $20 mark, so I think it really sucks especially for budget gamers, but overall for the community, I think it's doing a great service by keeping the game fresh and healthy. For card odds approximation, check out the official post by Magic: The Gathering (Changes as of Shards of Alara).

The new card type in Magic: Planeswalker

I've been playing Magic: The Gathering on and off for some time now and I think the last set I've played was the Time Spiral Block which was cool because of the reprints but somehow not that much great for me than its previous block Ravnica which has the new revisions of Dual Lands.. so until now I haven't seen or heard anything Magic and to my surprise when I tried to search what's happening now to the community is that I was faced with something amazing and eye candy in the form of a new card type: Planeswalker. The first I've seen it I really felt old school, is this what has become of Magic? I've only left for like 2 years.. well for those interested and don't know yet about this new card type, you can follow this link on the official website of Magic: The Gathering (Planeswalker Rules).
